TDN ARTISTS was founded in 1985 as The DIRECTORS NETWORK by industry veteran STEVE LEWIS. Steve successfully created a national venue and the concept in the U.S. of the “Freelance Commercial Director”.
A DP and Cinematographer talent roster was added in 1988. Since 1961 Steve worked as a film editor, director and producer in commercials, promos, long form television and features. Those experiences culminated into the original marketing concept of the talent agency, TDN Artists.
The marketing concept behind TDN is to be positioned as a non-completive pillar to the production community.
TDN allows it’s Directors and Cinematographers to be represented to advertising agencies via the existing commercial production company system and then produced by them on a job-by-job basis.
TDN does not market directly to ad agencies and is NOT a production company. As a talent agency, TDN is the perfect marriage of freelance Directors, Director/DPs and Cinematographers with commercial, promo, long form television, feature film production companies and internet content providers.
In 2005 Steve's son JEFF LEWIS joined TDN Artists as an agent and partner and is now sole owner. As a former production manager and producer for commercials and music videos, Jeff is a perfect fit and has taken over the day-to-day operations putting together deals between TDN talent and production companies. Jeff not only brings experience, but also a young, fresh attitude and exuberance to the agency and its future in the commercial, feature and promo world.
